Alex Oxlade Chamberlain believes that his side can win a first trophy for nine years, after reaching the semi finals of the FA Cup.

The Gunners winger has revealed that there is a burning desire for the club to win a first trophy, from the players themselves.

Chamberlain also admitted that the long wait for a Cup is “always in the back of his mind”.

Arsenal reached the last four after dumping out Everton, in an emphatic 4-1 win.

And Chamberlain is confident his side can beat Wigan, and progress to the Final.

Speaking in an interview, he said.

“As a professional and as a winner, you always want to win things, that goes for every member of our team.

“There’s no doubt it’s in the back of your mind because all you want to do is win. This is an opportunity for us, we are one step closer.

“Every step, every round you go through, you get that little bit closer and you get hungrier and hungrier for the end result.

“You watch FA Cup games at Wembley when you are growing up and that’s where you want to be. That’s the stage and that’s what it’s all about.

“It’s the first time we’ve been there since I’ve been at Arsenal, so it’s definitely a big thing for us. But we can’t get too carried away. It’s a game of football and we can’t let that occasion affect us too much.

“We just have to approach like we do every other game. We want to be excited but approach it very professionally, calm and cool as we can. Hopefully we can get through and get to the final.”

Chamberlain was superb in the Everton win, and also stated that his side can overturn Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

“We’ve still got a chance, 100 percent,” said Oxlade-Chamberlain. “Last season we went there 3-1 down – everyone wrote us off but we managed to get a good 2-0 win there.

“We’ll be feeling we can something take from that, and from this performance. In football a lot of things can happen. We are top side, they will know the job’s not done and we know the job’s not done.”

Arsenal are overwhelming favourites to win the historic Cup, with Hull City and League One side Sheffield Wednesday contesting the other Semi Final.
