Chelsea’s recent recruit opens up about why he snubbed Manchester United, in favour of a move to the title-holders
Pedro has admitted that signing for Chelsea was a ‘good decision’ – and the Spaniard believes that he is settling in well to the top-flight.
The former Barcelona player made the move to Stamford Bridge earlier in the summer, having previously been expected to join Manchester United.
Ed Woodward, the chief executive at United, even flew to Barcelona to attempt to tie up a deal for the 28-year-old, but he ultimately snubbed United’s advances, and joined the West-London outfit in a £21m deal.
Pedro, who scored on his debut for Jose Mourinho’s side, in a recent win over West Bromwich Albion, stated that moving to the Blues was the right choice, and has a positive relationship with his new manager.
Speaking to Spanish publication Marca, Pedro said: “I think I made a good decision with Chelsea. The welcome I’ve had from everyone has been great from the start. That has made it easy for me to adapt quickly and well.
“Although it might sound strange to some people, Mourinho is very different in person. He treats you like one of his family. He really cares about you, values you and how much he asks of his players.”
