Chelsea have given goalkeeper, Petr Cech, the green-light to join fierce-rivals, Arsenal, but only in the Summer.
The veteran has been strongly linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge after Thibaut Courtois was handed the number-one jersey at the beginning of the season, and despite deciding to stay at the club and fight for his place, Cech is now ready to leave.
The 32-year-old was keen to stay in West London and win his starting spot back, but with half the season gone, he’s only managed rare cup game appearances for Jose Mourinho this campaign and he will seek to quit the club before the new season starts.
As for Arsenal, they are in the market for a new shot-stopper after Wojciech Szczesny’s display on New Years Day against Southampton.
The Pole conceded two sloppy goals and it’s believed that Arsene Wenger has lost patience with the ‘keeper, using David Opsina in the following game against Hull City.
According to reports, Chelsea officials have told the goalkeeper he is free to leave in the Summer, and they will not stand in his way to join Premier League rivals.
Cech is valued at £7million.
