Roman Abramovich to give goalkeeper leavers present

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is ready to give Petr Cech a £4million goodbye gift once he secures his summer switch to Arsenal.

The veteran is set to leave Stamford Bridge, ending his long-term association with the West London outfit, and the board want to give him a goodbye and thank you present for his loyal services.

Cech Allowed to join Arsenal

Cech is set to join London rivals Arsenal, despite Jose Mourinho originally not wanting the deal to go through, but Abramovich took over the negotiations and allowed the goalkeeper to choose his future club.

The 33-year-old doesn’t want to leave London because of personal reasons and Abramovich has now given him the green-light to join rivals Arsenal.

It’s believed The Gunners will pay Chelsea £10million for the ‘keeper and will also make him the club’s highest paid number-one of all time. He will be offered a contract worth £100k-a-week.

Thank You Present

Cech has one-year left on his contract at Stamford Bridge, but after falling down the pecking order in West London, he wants to leave this summer in order to play regular first-team football.

As a thank you present, Abramovich is willing to give Cech the rest of the money he would have earned had he chosen to stay another year at The Bridge.

This means Chelsea will be given Cech £4m even though he is leaving the club.
