Lukas Podolski has encouraged Sami Khedira to snub Chelsea and join Arsenal instead.
Kherdira has been heavily linked with moves to both London clubs already this summer, but the players wage demands have threatened to scupper his move to Arsenal. He wants between £150k and £200k per week but that is more than what the Gunners are willing to pay.
But despite reports that Chelsea is now the likely destination for the German, his international team mate and Arsenal striker Podolski has urged him to move to the Emirates,
“I didn’t have to [try to convince Khedira to join Arsenal],” he told Sport Bild.
“Sami knows how much fun he could have with me, Mesut [Ozil] and Per [Mertesacker] at Arsenal.
“We had a great time together at the World Cup and I would like it very much if he comes to London.”
It now remains to be seen whether Khedira takes Podolski’s advice and considers dropping his wage demands to link up with his fellow German internationals in London.
