French midfielder Paul Pogba is close to sign a new deal with Serie A side Juventus.

The World Cup star, known in Italy as Il Polpo Paul (Paul the Octopus) due to his long legs that look like tentacles when he runs, is set to be offered a new contract worth €3.2M a season, with another €1M in bonuses.

The club hope to see off interest from Manchester United and Chelsea to keep Pogba, who won the 2013 Golden Boy award for the best under-21 player in Europe.

Pogba was named man of the match in the World Cup Second Round match between France and Nigeria, which saw Les Bleus win 2-0.

Manchester United are keen to bring Pogba back to Old Trafford, after leaving the Red Devils in 2012. Chelsea are also interested in Pogba.
