Manchester United and Liverpool were amongst a whole host of clubs who attempted to steal German World Cup winner Christoph Kramer.
According to reports, the Borussia Mochengladbach midfielder was subject of interest from several clubs including Juventus and Atletico Madrid.
It is understood that the German outfit rejected any approaches for Kramer, as Liverpool and United were both in the market for holding midfielders before the window shut on Monday.
The 23 year old replaced Sami Khedira in the German national side during the World Cup and found himself starting in the final against Argentina after some impressive displays.
