Real Madrid are going full steam ahead to lure Reus to Spain next with Carlo Ancelotti launching a fresh new claim in recent days.
He told Marca: “The best German player after Kroos and Khedira is Marco Reus.”
And that has now lead to some reports to suggest that Real Madrid may have already agreed a deal with Dortmund that will see them have first dibs on Reus if and when they decide to sell.
However, Watzke has laughed of those claims and reiterated that Marco Reus currently has a clause in his contract that allows him to leave if someone forks out £20m next summer.
He told Bild: “It’s complete rubbish that there is any kind of right of first refusal [for Madrid].
“Marco alone will decide where he will go. What would we do if his clause was activated?”
Blues Boss Mourinho has insisted that Chelsea are not interested, but it remains to be seen as usual
