Eden Hazard is expected to be fit for the start of Belgium’s Euro 2016 campaign.

The Red Devils get their tournament started tomorrow in Group E against Italy, in what coach Marc Wlimots describes as a ‘six-pointer’.

Chelsea star Hazard suffered a foot injury in training on Friday.

But Wilmots told reporters: ‘I don’t think it is serious, just a knock.’

Wilmots therefore has a fully-fit squad at his disposal after defender Thomas Vermaelen, who was considered a doubt last week, returned to training.

‘Thomas has done well in training over the last days and is completely ready for the battle,’ Wilmots added. ‘He has no more problems.”

Monday’s clash is one of the most eagerly awaited clashes in the group stage, in a group which also contains Sweden and Republic of Ireland.

Wilmots, however, tried to play down the importance of the clash.

‘There will still be six points available,’ he added.

‘At Euro 2000, Belgium won the first match against Sweden but was then eliminated after two defeats.

‘I’m not calculating the permutations. I’m looking at the situation game by game and even if I need only settle for a draw later on, I will always want to win. I know my players will do everything to achieve that too ‘
