The endless saga over Marco Reus’ transfer is reportedly coming to a close.
Reports from Spain suggest that Reus has agreed a deal in principal to move to Atlético Madrid.
Premier League rivals Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool were all reportedly interested in the 25-year old forward, but it seems a move to La Liga is on the cards.
Spanish journalist Juan Gato is quoted as saying, “Atlético is the only team that has closed an agreement with Marco Reus.”
This news will come as a blow to Louis Van Gaal, Arsene Wenger, Jose Mourinho and Brendan Rodgers, with the Liverpool manager especially keen to reinforce a faltering forward line and the news that Reus could be on his way to La Liga will sit particularly sourly in Merseyside.
