Kylian Mbappe seemingly dismissed rumours of a move away from PSG through a picture of him in PSG’s 2019/20 jersey on Instagram.
The 20-year old had a terrific 2018/19 season, netting 39 goals and providing 17 assists in 43 appearances for PSG across all competitions.
There were several reports linking Mbappe to a move to Real Madrid and later, the French forward was also linked to Liverpool.
However, Mbappe appeared to commit himself to the club through a picture he posted on Instagram. Mbappe posted a picture of himself in PSG’s home kit for the upcoming season with the caption “Ici c’est Paris”, the club’s motto.
Mbappe has been terrific for both PSG and France over the past 12-15 months. He played a major role in France winning the World Cup in Russia last summer, scoring 4 goals.
With PSG choking in the Champions League, many feel that Mbappe is too good to play in Ligue 1. Real Madrid were keen on signing the 20-year old but it seems that the club will make an attempt to sign Mbappe next summer in order to avoid breaching any FFP rules. Los Blancos have already made a number of high profile signings this summer in Eden Hazard, Luka Jovic, Ferland Mendy, Eder Militao and Rodrygo.
With Neymar’s future at PSG doubtful, PSG fans will certainly be overjoyed at Mbappe staying at the club next season.
