Blues in need of new striker

Premier League champions Chelsea are considering a swoop for Queen’s Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin.

Austin scored 18 goals in his debut season in the top flight, however it was not enough to keep Rangers from relegation to the Championship.

And the drop means they may struggle to hang on to their top scorer as they prepare for life back in the second tier.

Chelsea Need Striker

The Blues have released Didier Drogba, so may need reinforcements up front. And manager Jose Mourinho reckons England forward Austin fits the bill.

Austin, 25, was called up for the first time for the Three Lions last month, and may make his debut on Tuesday against Slovenia.

And, according to ESPN FC, he could be set for a sensational switch, as the champions prepare to defend their trophy next season.
