Brazilian set for Juventus move

Chelsea midfielder Ramires is on the brink of joining Serie A champions Juventus, according to reports.

The Brazilian centre-midfielder has struggled for game-time at Stamford Bridge over the past few seasons, and his role at the club diminished further last year once Cesc Fabregas arrived from FC Barcelona.

Ramires is behind both Fabregas and Nemanja Matic in the pecking order, and it seems that Jose Mourinho rates John Obi Mikel more so as well, leaving the Brazilian fourth-choice.

Corriere dello Sport are reporting that Ramires will arrive in Turin over the next few days to complete a switch, with Juve desperate to get the deal over the line.

Juve’s Quest for Midfielder

The Serie A champions have lost Arturo Vidal and Andrea Pirlo this summer, with Vidal joining Bayern Munich and Pirlo joining New York City.

The Old Lady initially wanted Julian Draxler from Schalke, but their advances were turned down by the Bundesliga outfit, so they turned their attentions elsewhere.

As for Ramires, with his status at the club diminishing, he could be allowed to leave The Bridge, ending his five year association with the club.

The Blues paid ÂŁ15million to Benfica to sign the midfielder and since then he has gone on to make 147 Premier League appearances, becoming quite the fan favourite.

However, his time in West London looks to be coming to an end with Chelsea ready to sell.
