Claudio Ranieri has revealed that Alfie Mawson injured himself while putting on his boots.

The English defender is set to miss the crucial clash against Tottenham Hotspur.

Fulham boss Claudio Ranieri has said the defender Alfie Mawson injured himself in a very weird way, which is the reason for his absence against Tottenham in the next match. The Italian gaffer has revealed that the English defender injured himself while changing his boots during the practice session.

Speaking to the media ahead of the match against Spurs, the former Premier League winning manager spoke about the players who are in the team for the crucial clash. He revealed the reason for Mawson’s absence and said, “It was a very strange injury. He just changed his boots. It was unbelievable.”

Ranieri added, “He needs more time. How long? I don’t know.”

The former Chelsea and Leicester City manager also had his say about the Yoga session bust-up between the two Fulham strikers Aboubakar Kamara and Aleksandr Mitrovic, which took place recently. The players were involved in a penalty fiasco during the Huddersfield Town match, which saw Kamara arguing with Mitrovic about taking the spot kick. He finally took the spot kick and missed it.

Ranieri said, “It wasn’t a battle, it was a chat and something that happens in every team, nothing more. I don’t think it was about the penalty.

He added, “Kamara is not in the squad. I prefer to think about it and then I will do the best for the team.”
