Manchester United ready to part ways with Raphael Varane in the summer.

The French defender has been overlooked by manager Erik ten Hag this season and seems to have fallen out of favour at the club.

There have been reports of a feud between the player and manager but Erik ten Hag dismissed any such rumours and stated nothing but a ‘tactical decision.’

Varane’s contract with the Red Devils expires in the summer and the club reportedly opted out of triggering his contract extension.

The World Cup winner joined Man United in the summer of 2021 and was considered a huge coup due to his pedigree while in Spain.

The veteran French defender is out of contract in the summer, and United have no intention of activating their 12-month option.

Manchester United are willing to let the defender leave for free in a bid to offload his high wages.

He’s one of the highest earners in the Premier League netting an eye-watering £340,000 per week.

Clearing his wages off the club’s books would allow Manchester United to invest in new signings and also adhere to the FFP regulations.

The former Real Madrid has interest from the Saudi Pro League as well as a return to Ligue 1 but a return to France would mean a significant pay cut for the 30-year-old.
