Ray Wilkins: ‘This is why I think Chelsea can still win the title”

Ray Wilkins still has confidence that Chelsea can retain their title this season.

Chelsea missed an opportunity to go level with Man City last weekend after their 1-0 defeat to the Citizens.

City are heavy favorites to take the title they missed out on last season, after several top displays in the early campaign this season.

Pep Guardiola’s men have scored 22 goals in seven games, conceding only twice in the process and look good for the title, alongside city rivals United who have also dropped only two points in seven games.

Despite, Chelsea now dropping down to fourth and are six points off the Manchester clubs, TalkSports pundit Ray Wilkins believes the reigning champions still have a chance to retain their title.

“It’s one result. Ray said, They drew 0-0 with Arsenal and weren’t very good. Arsenal were better than us on that day. We’ve lost against Burnley obviously, we’ve lost again on Saturday. But then, we’ve got to play the rest of them again, all away from home.

You know what Chelsea did to Manchester City last year away from home, they played a fantastic game against them. Therefore they’ve got to be in with a chance (of the title). The Champions League this year has also kept into their little diaries. It’s not easy to go on all fronts.
