Real Madrid striker, Mariano Diaz is reportedly preparing to move out of the Santiago Bernabeu “immediately”.
The Galactico youth product who was retained after only his one season away with Olympique Lyon is being pursued by another Ligue 1 club this time – AS Monaco. Diaz did well during his one season in France, scoring 18 goals in 37 league appearances.
He was brought back for in 2018 for €23m after Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure, to serve as a backup for Karim Benzema. So far, Diaz’s second stint with Real has mostly been unrewarding with the forward only allowed to feature in 22 games, recording around 750 minutes of playing time last season.
Zinedine Zidane has been boosted by the arrival of Luka Jovic this summer and that only spells further trouble for Diaz. The 25-year-old has no place in Zidane’s plans and he can fully expect to see even more time on the bench than he did under the two managers last campaign.
El Chiringuito claims that the striker has agreed personal terms with AS Monaco. AS Roma and Inter Milan have also made inquiries about Diaz, who could reportedly be acquired for only €20m.
On the other hand, Gareth Bale’s move to Jiangsu Suning has fallen through over disagreement of a transfer fee.
