Real Madrid convinced Luis Suarez will be their player next season

Luis Suarez`s stunning four goal performance against Norwich City showed exactly why the Liverpool striker has become the League`s deadliest striker, giving Real Madrid even more reason to target the Uruguayan.

Coach Carlo Ancelotti and president Florentino Perez have agreed that signing the 26 year-old striker is their top priority in the transfer market with doubts persisting over the future of Karim Benzema at the club.

Ancelotti believes an attackingfront three consisting of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Baled and Luis Suarez could be an unstoppable force and the Spanish Giants are prepared to spend up to ÂŁ45m to have there dream line-up.

Real Madrid officials are now speaking openly about how convinced they are that Suarez will swap Merseyside for Madrid and are not ruling out a bid in January, but a summer move – tied up before Suarez flies to Brazil before the World Cup – is deemed more likely.

Madrid are also keeping a keen eye on Manchester City`s Sergio Aguero but believe it will be easier to negotiate with Liverpool.

Last summer Luis Suarez took the unusual step of asking Liverpool to let him leave for a club in the Champions League, with Arsenal making an ill-judged ÂŁ40m plus ÂŁ1 bid believing it would trigger a release clause.

Real Madrid were given assurances that on agreeing to stay with Liverpool, Suarez has an agreement that the Reds will allow him to leave for a suitable club abroad, should Liverpool not secure a place in the Champions League next season.

No direct talks have taken place but Madrid have been assured that Suarez is ‘very motivated’ to play for the club.

Liverpool meanwhile continue to maintain that Suarez has a bright future at Anfield.

The Reds’ positive start to the season has strengthened their position and, should they finish in the top four for the first time since 2009, they will do all they can to convince Suarez to stay.

Speaking after the Norwich match, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers was keen to reiterate his, and the club’s stance. “I think this is the happiest he has been here and I think his best years will be here.” It is a theme we can expect to see repeated in the coming months.

But after Ronaldo and Bale, Madrid is set for their next big transfer involving one of the Premier League`s top players, and as we saw with those two stars Real Madrid and Perez will not give up until they get their man.
