The Galacticos finally returned to winning ways after having a disastrous last week.
Real Madrid have chosen to remain coy over the future of manager Santiago Solari at the club after the Argentine is set to end his first season at the Santiago Bernabeu without a trophy. The Galacticos were knocked out of the Champions League after a shameful defeat against Ajax in the round of 16 while arch-rivals Barcelona beat them in back to back matches in the Copa Del Rey semi-final and La Liga within the time span of four days. Moreover, all the defeats came for Los Blancos in their own backyard, which has proved to be a slaughterhouse of their aspirations this season. The Galacticos finally returned to winning ways against Real Valladolid in their last outing and won the match by 1-4.
However, Real Madrid director Emilio Butragueno has refrained from making any comment about the underperforming gaffer or his future at the club. When asked whether the manager is set to face the sack in the near future, he said, “Solari is a great professional but we’re here now to talk about the game.”
The relationship between the squad and the manager has been tenacious for quite some time now and it is evident from defender Nacho’s comments after the match. In an interview with Marca after the win against Valladolid, he said, “The relationship with the boss [Solari] is difficult as things are not going well. But we are with him to the death.”
