If reports are to be believed Real Madrid have lined up Guti as a potential replacement of current manager Julen Lopetegui.
Lopetegui was given the enormous task to replicate Zinedine Zidane’s achievement at the Santiago Bernabeu and he has so far completely failed to understand the pulse of the club.
The 52 year old is facing the sack after Real crashed to their third defeat against Levante in the La Liga. Los Blancos are currently winless in the last five games in all competitions and any hiccups in the next match against Viktoria Plzen would put an end to his managerial position.
Guti was a part of the Real Madrid Galacticos team and is currently an assistant manager at Besiktas. The Spaniard also had a brief stint with the Madrid U19 side so he won’t have any problem in guiding the senior side.
Lopetegui is likely to be in the dugout till the much anticipated El Classico against Barcelona but Madrid president Florentino Perez is believed to have lost his patience and could make any decision in the coming days.
Real Madrid B manager Santiago Solari is also in the contention but a number of players are ready to keep their trust in the current manager.
