Real Madrid identify Paul Pogba alternative

Real Madrid want Donny van de Beek from Ajax

According to reports, Spanish giants Real Madrid are ready to reignite their interest in Ajax enforcer Donny van de Beek. Los Blancos’ attempts to lure Paul Pogba to the Santiago Bernabeu have gone futile and they view de Beek as the perfect alternative for the Frenchman.

van de Beek capped off a brilliant season at Ajax, contributing with 17 goals and 13 assists as the club won the Eredivisie and reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League.

Zinedine Zidane is said to be adamant on signing Paul Pogba this summer but the Frenchman has proven to be extremely hard to get. United are holding him out for £150m – a price tag Real Madrid are finding to tough to match.

Van de Beek also made it to the Champions League squad for season 2018/19. With United not interested in selling Pogba and the midfielder not trying to force a transfer, Los Merengues have been looking at van de Beek to solve their midfield problems.

Real Madrid are confident that a €60m bid will be enough to acquire the player’s services this summer.
