Real Madrid keen on signing Tottenham star
Unimpressed by the performances of their No.1 keeper Keylor Navas, Real Madrid are keen on signing Tottenham stopper Hugo Lloris to boost their backline.
According to a report in The Mirror, the move to acquire Lloris has intensified after Navas’ recent performances.
Last week, Zinedine Zidane had shown faith in Navas: “I am a Real Madrid coach and I am happy with my two goalkeepers, I will always say the same. I saw Keylor play well, although we can always give a little bit more, like always.”
However, if recent reports are to be believed, Club President Florentino Perez has identified Lloris as a potential target, with the Spurs keeper set to turn 31 next month.
The France-born keeper, who has been with the Spurs since 2012, has had only final appearance in his career, against rivals Chelsea in the League Cup in 2015.
While Thibaut Courtois and David De Gea have been on the Madrid radar for a while, the Frenchman presents a cheaper option to Los Blancos.
