It has been just days since Jose Mourinho got sacked by Manchester United and the Portuguese is already being linked with a return to Real Madrid.
The Galacticos recently fired David Loptegui from the manager position and appointed Santiago Solari as the interim head coach. With Madrid still struggling to make their way up the La Liga table, Florentino Perez might be leaning favourably towards the out-of-work Mourinho.
Mourinho spent 3 seasons at the Santiago Bernabeu and delivered just one La Liga title. His successor, Carlo Ancelotti recorded a European treble in his first season in charge. However, Mourinho did manage to set the team up to counter Barcelona’s dominant run in the domestic stage.
One of his close allies in the Madrid camps was head scout, Luis Campos. “I was very disappointed by what happened (to Mourinho),” Campos said. “He would have wanted to build a great project in England.”
“I see him as the ideal man for managing Real Madrid. He might return at some point because he is a great coach.”
Latest reports claim that Mourinho has already to returned to Portugal for the winter period and he wishes to spend some time away from football. His past three seasons with Manchester United have been quite difficult, strained by the constant criticisms from fans and the media.
