Isco insists he never wanted to leave
Real Madrid star Isco has admitted there was Premier League interest in his signature this summer, but he never considered leaving Spain.
Arsenal were the main team repeatedly linked with the playmaker over the summer window, but a move never materialised. It was claimed by Spanish media that Tottenham were also interested.
But when asked by Marca whether he considered leaving, he said: “Not really, I have two years left on my Real contract.
“The club said nothing and I never looked for anything to leave.”
It’s thought that Jose Mourinho is keen on adding Isco to his Manchester United squad this January, in the hope of adding some more creativity.
Questioned about a possible contract renewal at the Bernabau, he added: “I don’t know, the truth is that I have not yet thought about it, nor have they asked me to renew, so I am calm.
“I take it day by day, which is important.”
