Ribery: ‘Eden Hazard can replace me at Bayern Munich’

Franck Ribery has claimed that Eden Hazard would be a perfect replacement for either him or Arjen Robben at Bayern Munich.

Bayern are reportedly making long-term plans to replace the pair, who have struggled with injuries this season.

The Bundesliga side are reportedly chasing Kevin De Bruyne of Wolfsburg. De Bruyne is being tracked by Manchester City.

But Ribery reckons the club should target Belgian Hazard instead.

“[De Bruyne] a super player, but when I see him I note that he’s different to Arjen and me,” Ribery told Sport Bild.

“He’s not a player who takes the ball and starts dribbling, and likes to have the opponent in front of him.

“De Bruyne’s super when he has the space on the counter attack, but at Bayern you usually only have three, four metres — no huge spaces.

“But he is a good player, and he is still young. He can still learn.

“[Hazard] attacks all of the time. He loves to run at his opponent.

“But he plays at Chelsea. This could be very expensive for Bayern.”
