Italian giants Roma are planning a summer bid for Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen. The Belgian defender could be set to leave the club at the end of the season, in search of Champions League football.
Barcelona and Zenit St Petersburg have previously declared an interest in the player but Roma are now leading the chase for Vertonghen, with the clubs sporting director, Walter Sabatini, having already made enquiries to Spurs over a possible deal.
However, Tottenham will demand big money for their centre-half as they aren’t very keen to part ways with him. Roma also have their eye on another Spurs player in Paulinho, but the main target is Vertonghen.
