La Viola believe the winger should be spending another season with them

Roma’s deal to sign Mohamed Salah on loan could collapse due to Fiorentina.

The Chelsea man – who spent last season on loan in Italy with La Viola – had agreed a deal to join Roma on a season-long loan with a view to a permanent deal next summer.

He was even set to fly out to the club to finalise negotiations. However, the deal may soon be no more, with Fiorentina claiming that he should be spending another season on loan with them.

Case could be taken to FIFA

They are claiming that the terms in the original deal with Chelsea stated that he should still be playing for them in 2015/16. On the other hand, the player’s agent has stated that Salah was well within his rights to leave the club at the end of last season because of a separate agreement made by the two clubs.

It’s a very confusing and complicated matter and the two clubs – Chelsea and Fiorentina – could very well end up taking the case to FIFA to try and resolve it. As for now though, it appears a move to Roma is on hold.
