Romeu joined German side Stuttgart on loan this summer following a successful loan spell with Valencia.
And now the Spaniard has announced that he will remain with the Bundesliga club if he does not get enough game time with Chelsea, the 23 year-old said: “My main objective is to improve my game and I think I can still improve a lot.”
Romeu signed a new three year deal with the London side this summer but could still decide to make his loan-move permanent.
He added: “The Bundesliga is a good league to grow and to become a better player.
“We’ll see what happens, but now I’m focused on the present and helping the team.
“I don’t know what will happen in the next few years but I will never say no to staying in Stuttgart because they have treated me amazingly so far and I’m really happy here.”
