Wayne Rooney has taken to Facebook to defend manager Louis Van Gaal after comments from United fans blasting the manager. The jibes come after United let a 3-1 lead slip against Leicester City conceding 4 goals in the last 22 minutes to eventually lose 5-3.

Rooney has defended his boss even though it has been widely reported that the Dutchman was disapointed with his skippers performance. However the England Captain has stated that people should not write United off just yet.

The forward took to Facebook to say, ‘There seems to be a lot of people who have written us off because of Sundays result but I don’t see it that way. When I look around our dressing room and see the quality we have and the managers unbelievable attention to detail I have no doubts this team will be successful.’

Whether Rooney’s words will come back to haunt him is yet to seen, but with their start to season United have a lot of ground to make up if they want even a sniff at winining the title. The Red Devils will hope they can bounce back with a win against inform West Ham United this weekend.
