England vs France WILL go ahead despite Paris Attacks on Friday

England manager Roy Hodgson has welcomed the decision to go ahead with the friendly on Tuesday despite the Paris Attacks which took place on Friday evening.

There were initial calls to postpone the friendly, which is to take place on Tuesday evening at Wembley Stadium, following the devastating scenes in France, but it’s now been confirmed that the match will go ahead as planned.

France were playing Germany at the time of the Paris Attacks, which left over 100 dead, and it was believed that the game with England would be cancelled as a safety measure and also as a show of respect.

However, the game will go ahead as planned and Hodgson has welcomed that decision despite the fears over another possible attack.

Hodgson Happy To Go Ahead

“We respect the decision and will prepare accordingly, both on and off the pitch,” said England boss Hodgson.

“The match will be a serious occasion but one that shows that the football world is united against these atrocities.

“I am sure the England team and our fans will play their part and show solidarity with our French friends on Tuesday and provide support for both teams during this difficult time.”

The decision to go ahead with the match was made by French Football Federation (FFF) president Noel le Graet, who stated his team will travel to England.

England fans are being asked to sing the French national anthem as well as their own as a sign of solidarity and respect.
