Ruben Loftus-Cheek has blamed sloppiness of the Chelsea players as the reason for their defeat at the hands of Wolves.

The England international scored his sixth goal of the season in the match but could not lead his side to victory.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek has said that it was the sloppiness of the Chelsea players that led to their disappointing loss against Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Blues took on a resurgent Wolves side at the Molineux in their 15th encounter of the season, only to face their second defeat of the season despite taking the lead in the 18th minute of the match.

The England international has been in good form this season and was handed his first start of the season in the Premier League. The 22-year-old did not disappoint manager Maurizio Sarri and notched up his sixth goal of the season as the ball deflected of Wolves captain Conor Coady’s head into the back of the net. The player, however, was not happy with the final result and blamed their sloppy attitude for the loss.

Loftus-Cheek said, “you don’t get the same feeling when you score and you lose,” he added, “We felt in control first half, 1-0 up and playing some good football. They came out fast second half and to be fair we were sloppy as a team, and in the Premier League if you’re sloppy, you pay for it. That’s what happened.”

The loss has pushed the Pensioners down to the fourth spot in the Premier League table behind Tottenham Hotspur, who won their encounter against Southampton by 3-1.
