Robin Van Persie could be a Boro player very soon

The 32 year old Dutch forward was seen leaving the newly promoted sides training ground on Tuesday

Middlesbrough FC have been linked with a sensational move for the ex-united frontman. Van Persie is currently at Turkish club, Fenerbache, but has ben heavily linked with a return to the top flight of English football since the opening of the transfer window. Could this really happen?

In his debut season with the Turkish side, RVP scored 20 goals after having previously been shown the door from Manchester United. His ability to score goals is well recognised within the Premier League. Although controversial, his move to Manchester in 2012 saw him gather up to 26 goals in the campaign, helping Sir Alex Ferguson end his career with yet more decorations.

Former teammate could also be heading to the North East

According to reports, Boro are also confident on the signing of ex-Barcelona number one, Victor Valdes. This was after the club held talks with the Spaniards representatives in Barcelona.

Valdes, 34, is currently a free agent after his torrid time at Manchester United finally ended recently. Moreover, Boro are keen to strengthen their squad and become a real threat in the next Premier League season.
Portuguese giants, Sporting Lisbon are understood to be interested, alongside Turkish team Besiktas. However, it’s believed that talks of a move to Boro are now at the advanced stage.

Despite both players being arguably passed their peak, the former giants within the world of football are sure to be able to do a job for the newly promoted Middlesbrough side.
