Liverpool and Senegal winger Sadio Mane thinks that it’s way early to talk about Liverpool’s chances in the Premier League. Liverpool have begun the Premier League remarkably well by winning their first three matches without conceding a single goal.

However, the Senegalese winger thinks that the club should not get carried away right now. Mane told Spanish newspaper Marca, “It is a great challenge, and it is true that we have won trophies, but not the league. We’ll try to fix it this year. That’s why we have signed great players and it’s a great challenge to attempt the assault on the Premier League. Liverpool is a great club. We want to do something special, but without putting too much pressure [on ourselves].

Now everyone is talking about us, but we have to go calmly, game-by-game. Let’s not talk about trophies now, it’s early. This has just begun.”

Sadio Mane also said that it is difficult to evaluate how good the team is this season. He said, “We may be in the future. We are trying to play better and better every day. But it’s up to others to judge whether this is better or not. It will not be easy.”

When asked if he hopes to better his goal tally this season, Mane said, “Yes, I will try, I am still young to learn. But that’s not important. The essential thing is to improve as a team and to contribute more and more.”

Liverpool’s next Premier League fixture is against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.
