Reds given boost after injury scare

Liverpool have been given an injury boost after Sadio Mane returned to training today, despite picking up a slight knock playing for Senegal this week.

He was withdrawn from the game for his country with an hour to go as a precautionary measure.

There were initially some suggestions he’d suffered a knee injury. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp called the player on Sunday afternoon to get his own update.

There is good news however, as Mane has declared himself 100% fit to face Leicester at Anfield this weekend, Liverpool’s first home game of the season due to their new main stand being completed. He reported to training this morning at Melwood with the rest of his teammates.

Mane has already become a massive player in a Reds shirt, in the one match he was unavailable – the defeat against Burnley – Liverpool were a shadow of the side they have been in fixtures against Arsenal, Spurs and Burton Albion.
