Saudi clubs eye £17 million move for Danish midfielder in January transfer window

Christian Eriksen’s future at Manchester United seems to be in danger, as clubs from Saudi Arabia’s Pro League express interest in the Danish midfielder. There is rumour that an £17 million offer is being evaluated possibly clearing the door for Eriksen to leave Old Trafford in the middle of the season.

Despite signing on a free transfer with the Red Devils last summer, the 31-year-old has struggled to regain the form that once made him an outstanding talent.

Eriksen, who has only 18 months left on his current deal, has been on the outside looking in, providing only 15 goals in 59 appearances across all competitions.

As the January transfer window gets closer the possibility of Eriksen leaving adds an additional dimension of uncertainty to Manchester United’s expanding roster.

Manager Erik Ten Hag has been charged with restructuring the team and must balance outgoings with prospective incoming moves. The midfielder’s probable move to Saudi Arabia would not only offer him with a fresh start, but would also reduce the Red Devils’ pay cost.

United fans are now waiting for the club’s decision, which is expected to rest on whether the rumored £17 million bid is deemed acceptable.

If the deal goes through, Eriksen’s time at Manchester United will come to an end, and he will begin a new chapter in his career in the Middle East.
