Arsenal legend, Tony Adams, says selling Robin Van Persie to Manchester United was a big mistake and could see the club going another year without a trophy.
The Gunners haven’t won any silverware since their FA cup win over Man United back in 2005 and the club seem to be losing key players each summer. Ex-captain, Tony Adams, has said that losing the Dutch striker was a massive mistake for the club and he also thinks his old side will fall short once again.
“I thought Robin was a mistake,” former Arsenal skipper Adams told BBC Sport. “I think he could have played for four or five more years.
“I hope they do go on and win everything. Realistically, I think they will fall short again.”
Tony Adams then went on to add; “I wouldn’t have made that decision [to sell Van Persie],”.
“Because I do believe if you want to win major trophies you need [the] best players.
