Marco Silva has said that Everton need to keep together after their defeat against Tottenham.

The Toffees faced an embarrassing defeat by 2-6 at Goodison Park in their last match.

Everton manager Marco Silva has said that his side need to “keep together” after their defeat against Tottenham, which saw them go down by 2-6 at Goodison Park in their last outing. Theo Walcott broke the deadlock with a sweet finish but then it was one-way traffic as Heung Min-Son, Dele Alli, Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen shared six goals among themselves to sink the hosts. Gylfi Sigurdsson got a consolation goal in the 51st minute.

The Portuguese gaffer said, “We have to keep together and it will be good for us to have another match so quick. And we have to give a different answer next time against Burnley.”

He added, “We wanted to do something different in the last game of the year at home. We wanted to give different feelings to our fans with a good performance and, more importantly, a good result. We didn’t achieve it at all. We started the game well, we were winning 1-0 after 20 minutes and nobody expected what happened after that. We scored the second ‘goal’ in an important moment… in my opinion [that was] one of the key moments because 2-0 would have been a good advantage for us.”

Everton face Burnley in their next match in the Premier League as they travel to Turf Moor on Wednesday.
