Left-back has struggled at Chelsea
Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has opened the door for Chelsea left-back Filipe Luis to return to Spain.
After moving from Atletico Madrid last summer, the left-back has failed to cement a regular starting spot in Jose Mourinho‘s side and has had to put up with playing a bit-part role throughout the season.
Manager Simeone has talked up the chances of the player returning to the Vicente Calderon this window and would be delighted if the Brazilian decided to become reinstated at Atletico once again.
Simeone Wants Reunion
He told Spanish newspaper AS Diario: “Filipe is a player we like a lot as a kid but who also knows us well and has given a lot to the team.
“I hope it happens.”
Before joining Chelsea, Luis was an integral part of the Atletico side that won La Liga in 2013/14 and is now tipped to re-join the Spanish side this summer.
