Solskjaer happy with his current squad of player at Man United

Manchester United caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that he is not expecting any new arrivals at Old Trafford in January. Solskjaer had earlier confirmed on Friday that he was going to sit with vice-executive chairman Ed Woodward to discuss the club’s transfer plans in January.

However, Solskjaer has made it clear that he is more than happy with the squad that he has at his disposal but has also stated that he will give his assessment on any particular target that the club comes up with.

“I’m happy with the squad I’ve got,” Solskjaer said. “I don’t expect anyone to come in but obviously if the club has targeted and identified a few and I think they might fit here, I’ll give my thumbs up. But it’s not just my decision.

“Nobody had to tell me I had loads of talented players [to inherit at United]. I can see that from outside.

“We didn’t speak too much about what’s been going on, to be honest. It was about seeing what you can do to go back to the way we used to play, the way Man United are supposed to play, exciting football. We’re looking a little bit like we want to see the team [we want to see].”

Solskjaer equalled Matt Busby’s record of the best start to a managerial career at Old Trafford as the Red Devils registered their fourth consecutive win in the Premier League with a 2-0 humbling of Newcastle United.
