South African goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa has reportedly been shot dead, according to reports in the African country.
Reports suggest the internationally goalkeeper was shot dead just hours after he played in Orlando Pirates during their 4-1 win over Ajax Cape Town, in the South African top flight.
There has been no confirmation as of yet from his club, however Police have confirmed the 27 year-old death.
Meyima’s South African team-mate Dean Furman posted on Twitter following the news:
“Beyond devastated at the loss of our captain & friend Senzo Meyiwa. thoughts & prayers are with his family & friends at this terrible time.”
