Southamton eyeing Lovren replacements

Southampton defender Dejan Lovren is moving ever closer to a £25million move to Liverpool, leading the Saints to start the hunt to replace him.

Liverpool have already had a £20million bid rejected, but now seem to be gaining Southampton’s interest with a £25mil bid, the figure the Saints had been holding out for all along. They have now targeted Everton target Bruno Ecuele Manga. The FC Lorient defender helped his team to 8th in Ligue 1 last season.

Lovren is practically out of the door, saying his head is already at Anfield,

“Liverpool sent a £20m offer and they [Southampton] paid £9m for me, so they would’ve earned twice the amount,” Lovren said.

“It was in the morning and by the afternoon the club had said I was not for sale.

“Frankly, my head is already at Liverpool.”

When Lovren completes the move, he will be the third Saints player this season to move to Anfield, following Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana.
