Sporting Lisbon are set to offer midfielder William Carvalho a new bumper deal, in order to fend off interest from Premier League trio; Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea.
The Portuguese international was heavily tracked by the English trio this Summer, but no formal moves were made until late on Monday night on deadline day, when both Arsenal and United made last ditch offers.
It’s believed Arsene Wenger offered Joel Campbell and cash for the holding-midfielder, whilst United made a late bid too with just cash.
After keeping hold of the 22-year-old, Lisbon are now desperate to keep him on a long-term deal and are pushing him to sign a new lucrative deal with an improved weekly wage.
According to reports in Spain, Lisbon want to add an extra year to his current deal, and give him a substantial pay-rise.
