Tottenham have launched a bid for wanted Marseille man Florian Thauvin.
However, Spurs will be battling rivals Arsenal and Chelsea for the player’s signature with Atletico Madrid also holding firm interest in the Frenchman.
Thauvin was involved in a complex transfer saga last year, where he eventually went on striker to force a move away from Lille.
And this year it appears that the midfielder could be set to move on again, despite Marseille insisting the player is not for sale.
Marseille president Vincent Labrune recently told RMC: “He is one of the greatest talents of his generation.
“OM have great hopes for him. I hope this year will be Thauvin’s year.
“He’s done the perfect preparation. I’m hoping he will explode.”
It is understood that Tottenham will attempt to sign Memphis Depay if they fail to sign Thauvin this summer window.
