According to the Daily Mail, Sherwood spoke with sporting director Franco Baldini about adding to his squad, and told him he is keen to create a homegrown base to his squad.

And Luke Shaw is also hot property amongst the Premier League big-hitters, with Tottenham considering to battle Chelsea for his signature – although Southampton are unwilling to sell the youngster.
