Spurs plan DOUBLE £35million bid for Saints stars

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino, is planning an audacious £35million swoop to be re-united with his former Southampton players, Morgan Schneiderlin and Jay Rodriguez.

According to reports, Spurs are favourites in the race to grab the pair at the end of the season.

Pochettino failed in a bid to land £20million-rated Schneiderlin, and Rodriguez, himself valued at £15million, in the summer.

Although Rodriguez is yet to start this season due to injury, the pair, both 25, look set for further greatness in the Premier League. The Frenchman already has World Cup finals experience, and Rodriguez, the Burnley born 6-footer, has already been capped for his country.

Southampton have made an astonishing start to this season under the guidance of Dutch legend, Ronald Koeman. If their form continues, and who is to say it won’t, there may be some tough decisions to be made by the club next summer.

Liverpool have made no secret about their interest in Rodriguez, and Arsenal are following Schneiderlin. Will Spurs have the financial clout to fend off the interest from these rival big-hitters? Only time will tell, but in the meantime, Southampton fans will be grateful that they have such highly-rated stars on their books at St Marys.

Southampton in the Champions League? Why not? Let’s see if the Saints sell then.
