Manchester City striker Stevan Jovetic is ready to kick-start his career in England are finally overcoming small injury problems that have kept him out of action since his move from Italian side Fiorentina.

The Montenegro international signed for City in the summer for around ÂŁ26million, but only made his first appearance on Tuesday night during the club’s 5-0 thrashing of Wigan Athletic in the Capital One Cup.

Unfortunately for Jovetic, he has some serious competition in his way as he has to go up against the likes of Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko and Alvaro Negredo, with all three of them impressive early on in the season.

He told the Manchester Evening News: “It was difficult for me because I was the last to come here and I was injured, so when they played the first games I was doing preparation.

“Now I am much better and I hope that by playing more I will show much more.

“I feel settled here now. I was accepted from my first day, especially by Matija Nastasic, Aleks Kolarov and Edin Dzeko, but also by the rest of the squad.”
