Stoke look to Liverpool’s Lambert

Stoke City are targetting Liverpool’s Rickie Lambert as they failed in their swoop for Emmanuel Adebayor.

Adebayor has reportedly turned down the chance to join Premier League club Queens Park Rangers, before also reject the Potters today.

The current Spurs man has had hardly any game time this season. He has set his sights on moving abroad, preferably to a club who can guarantee Champions League football.

Stoke manager Mark Hughes has now enquired about Liverpool forward Rickie Lambert, as he looks to take him on loan until the end of the season.

However, Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has insisted Lambert is very much part of his squad, because he provides competition to the likes of Sterling and Sturridge.

The 32-year old has scored three goals for his boyhood Liverpool since the move from Southampton in the summer.
