The two parties have agreed on a mutual termination

Swansea City Football Club have confirmed they’ve reached an agreement with Michu over a termination of his contract.

The Spaniard was a huge success at the Liberty Stadium during his debut season, but following a serious knee injury and a failed loan spell to Napoli, he has now been released by the Premier League side.

The 29-year-old’s contract was expiring next summer anyway, but the forward wants to play regular football immediately, and after talks with Swansea, he agreed to terminate his deal.

Michu’s Time Is Up

Michu scored 28 goals in 67 appearances for the Welsh outfit during his three year spell there, which saw him labelled as one of the best bargains in the Premier League era.

Swansea paid Rayo Vallecano just ÂŁ2million for the striker back in 2012.

The club have wished Michu well for the future on their official website.
