West Ham are ready to offload the Ecuadorian before making a late swoop for Manchester City striker Wilfried Bony

Swansea City are understood to be in talks with Enner Valencia over a £12 million move to the Liberty Stadium, after being told he can leave West Ham before the transfer window closes this evening.

The 26-year-old has failed to hit it off with the Hammers, scoring just eight goals in his two years at the club, and with the Swans now interested in the South American, it will open up the opportunity for West Ham to make a move for Manchester City’s Wilfried Bony.

Francesco Guidolin, who held talks with the player on Tuesday, is still keen to bolster his attack despite already signing World Cup winner Fernando Llorente from Sevilla and splashing out £15 million on Borja Baston, this summer.

But despite Valencia’s inability to make an impact of the Premier League, as of yet, the east Londoners will look to recoup all of the £12 million they paid to sign him in 2014. However, a loan move is reportedly still an option, although Slaven Bilic would like to offload the player on a permanent basis.

Swansea’s pursuit of Valencia will not be easy, however, with West Brom also understood to be interested in the striker, after the Baggies’ move for another of West Ham’s front men, Diafra Sakho, fell through due to the former Metz striker’s poor fitness levels.
