The keeper has admitted he was angry that Eden Hazard attempted a fancy flick in Belgium’s game against Gibraltar

Thibaut Courtois has revealed he was angry with Eden Hazard for attempting a fancy back-heel in Belgium’s half in their game against Gibraltar.

The Red Devils managed to ease to a 6-0 win over their opponents but it didn’t stop Courtois from being angry with his Chelsea and Belgium team-mate for being risky with the ball in their own half.

Hazard got the ball and tried a back-heel, which clearly annoyed the goalkeeper.

The Chelsea shot-stopper believed that the back-heel was an unnecessary risk and could have led to Gibraltar bagging a goal and, ultimately, getting rid of Belgium’s clean-sheet.

Disrespecting the Gibraltar side

He also believed that it could have been seen as a disrespect to their opponents, with the 24-year old insisting that they should show respect to the Gibraltar side.

He said to the Mirror: “I was angry with Eden Hazard because he tried a backheel in a part of the pitch where he shouldn’t have. I absolutely wanted to keep a clean sheet.

“I yelled to everyone understood that we had to stay sharp. We had little to gain here.”

Things aren’t going too well at Chelsea at the moment and this won’t have helped matters too much, with Courtois slamming his Blues’ team-mate here.
